The expense ratio is the annual fee (deducted on a daily basis) required for ETF investments. This includes management, administrative, operating and all other asset-based costs incurred by the ETF provider. The average expense ratio for ETFs is about 0.09% - 0.16%. For example, if you were to invest $10,000, the expense ratio will be about $9 - $16 per year.
